PAEKAKARIKI TAKEOFF.
More progress made by Kris re: the access to below the look-out for an alternative TO. Following a somewhat reserved response by the Railways rep., Kris has approached the organisation called "Nga Uruora". The Nga Uruora Kapiti Project Inc is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the restoration of native forest habitats along the Kapiti Coast. At this stage, they are happy with us clearing some gorse to make a takeoff. There is a covenant on the lookout area, specifically the native bush. There is also a proposal to carry out a redevelopment of the lookout area, and Nga Uruora is keen to see the club is involved in this redevelopment. POST XMAS XMAS BARBEQUE!!
After discussion regards the proposal made by Kris last meeting for some sort of get together in March, the following was decided.
Date - Sunday 30.3.03, alternative day if postponed - Sunday 6.4.03. Time - Afternoon, dependant on flying?
Venue - to be decided on the night before, dependant on weather/conditions. Possibilities are: Paekak beach/reserve, Pukerua Bay beach, Kaitoke Regional Park, The Plateau Park (if you're keen enough to land there!), Kourarau, Bull Hill, Western Lake, Whangamoana. Other suggestions more then welcome. Venue will be advised via the message on the Paekak weather station.
BYO meat and drink.
Motion by Grant, seconded Kris that $45 of club funds be used for purchase of salads, breads, butter etc, for club Xmas Barbeque. Passed, Unanomous.
Request - anyone with a smallish barbeque that can be taken along, let Grant know, please? I have a medium size one, but we really need one or two more.
Prizes. A small entry fee will be collected from everyone for spotprizes - spot landing, best/worst takeoff, etc.
HANG-DOG WEBSITE. This needs updating. (already done, thanks Kris/Alex).
NZHGPA WEBSITE. This also needs updating. Grant to do this.
