Windsock at Paekak
The windsock at the beach at Paekak has deteriorated to the point where it needs to be replaced. Ken has a spare windsock, and Guy has offered to get the frame down and have it plated. (The frame is very rusty.)
Southerly site.
Kris has made some inquiries about the possibility of flying at Terewhiti station. He has contacted the head sheppard, Allan Hobbs, and is going to make some more inquiries into access.  (Letter sent to owner's representative)
Wind.co.nz.
Discussion regards whether these guys can link into our Paekak weatherstation. Lloyd feels it may be too difficult. This is being looked into. Also the owner of the website, Vivian Morresey, may be present at the next club meeting to talk to us about his website.
PG League.
Kris is organising a PG league for Wellington, 31.1.04, 1.2.04, 2.2.04. Reserve weekend - mid March, dependant on comp committee.
Also organising a 'public display/promotion' fly from Mt Vic to the new beach below around the same time.
Community funding
Requests for funding have been suggested for the following -
1. Promotion of PG in conjunction with the breeze radio station. Options of Barry Sayer and/or Nelson based instructors providing subsidised instruction packages for interested people, poss intro day for maybe group of ten, value of $1500.
Proposed Kris, seconded Ken. Carried unanimously.
2. (2nd priority) Application for $1000 for scholarship for promotion of PG.
Proposed Kris, seconded Colin. Carried unanimously.
3. Application made for funding for the purchase of tandem safety parachute for use solely with the club tandem glider. Value $900.
Proposed Grant. Seconded Guy. Carried unanimously.
Notice
Lambing time is here again. Please be aware of the need to adhere to certain site closures for the duration of lambing.
Association AGM
The Annual General Meeting of the National association, The NZHGPA, is being held 6,7 Sept.  Billets may be required, and delegates selected. Colin voiced an interest in going. One other delegate allowed, this to be confirmed by Barbara Rooke, our new administrator, in the next couple of weeks.
Fees
Club fees need to be provisionally set before the NZHGPA AGM. Some discussion ensued, with financial status discussed. Possibility of reduction of fees discussed.
Proposed the the fees remain the same, at $35.
Proposed Colin, seconded Lloyd. Carried unanimously.
Club training glider, European Mars.
Grant suggested that it may be time to consider replacing the flying wires on the Mars. While the glider is still airworthy, the rigging is in poor condition. Also purchase of 2 spare downtubes for Ventura.
Motion that wires be replaced, and DT's purchased.
Proposed Grant, seconded Guy. Carried unanimously.
Videos
Ken asked if the club had any videos. Grant to advise (all videos currently at Grants place). Suggestion that it would be worthwhile to purchase a couple of newer videos for promotion of sport.
Motion - that if the club videos aren't suitable, that a sub-committee comprising of Ken and Colin chose and purchase PG videos up to the value of $200.
Proposed Kris, seconded Dean. Carried unanimously.
Meeting closed 9.00pm
